BILINGUAL HUMAN RESOURCES SUPERVISOR

(Union Distribution Facility)

 

HARTZ MOUNTAIN, a leading manufacturer and marketer of quality pet products,
is currently seeking a results oriented individual to join our team of
dedicated and successful Human Resources professionals in our Jersey City,
NJ facility.

The Human Resources Supervisor role will focus on the full range of
generalist activities, including recruiting and employment, employee / labor
relations, training, performance management, compensation, talent review and
succession planning, government reporting and legal compliance, etc.  The
emphasis of this role is on the leadership of workforce practices and
processes that improve business results.

 

Major Responsibilities:

.         Oversee HR functions for a New Jersey based unionized facilities,
consisting of 200+ employees 

.         Handle employee / labor relations counseling in a unionized
manufacturing environment

.         Environmental, Health and Safety experience in a food
manufacturing environment

.         Create and conduct various training seminars for union and
nonunion employee

.         Perform recruitment activities, interviews and evaluate candidates
for select positions

.         Conduct new-employee orientations

.         Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local employment laws

.         Oversee Workers' Compensation 

.         Maintain ADP, HRIS and employment records and compile reports from
database

.         Perform other related duties as required and assigned

.         Support Lean manufacturing / 6 sigma operations

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

.         MUST BE Bilingual (English-Spanish) 

.         Must be proficient in ADP Enterprise or Peoplesoft and E-Time or
similar system

.         5+ years human resources experience in a union manufacturing
environment, with a minimum of 3 years experience in a management role

.         Must have strong bargaining skills in a unionized environment

.         Union contract negotiations a must

.         Experience working in a Lean manufacturing / 6 sigma environment

.         Thorough knowledge and understanding of employment and labor law,
and compliance issues

.         Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills essential

.         Ability to communicate with the all levels of employees and
management 

.         Demonstrated leadership in HR Management

.         Bachelor degree in business, human resources, or equivalent
combination of education and experience
