      PSA/AAUP at NJIT

 

       

 

       

 

      The Professional Staff Association/American Association of University
Professors at New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, NJ is seeking
applications for a part-time intern for the Fall 2007 semester.

 

       

 

      The PSA/AAUP is the collective bargaining representative for the
Faculty and Professional Staff at NJIT.  It is the largest bargaining unit
on campus with approximately 700 members.

 

       

 

      Responsibilities: 

 

      Assist with contract administration, internal organizing, development
of chapter communications, and general union administration.  Some of the
work may be completed off campus if you have access to a PC with the
necessary programs.  

 

       

 

      Qualifications: 

 

      Degree and/or experience in labor/industrial relations.  Masters
candidate preferred.  

 

      Applicants should have strong analytical, organizational,
communication, and computer skills - Word, Excel and some Access.  The
ability to work with minimal supervision and strong initiative are
essential.

 

       

 

      Starting Hourly Rate:  $14.00

 

       

 

      As an intern with the PSA/AAUP.

 

      You will have the opportunity to gain as much knowledge and experience
as you desire.  This is why initiative and ability to work with minimal
supervision are essential.  You will be exposed to all levels of collective
bargaining from general administration of the contract and conflict
resolution, to negotiations.
