The Centre for Children and Young People at Southern Cross University,
Australia, is well known nationally and internationally for its work in
promoting the status and well-being of children and young people through its
research, education and advocacy activities.

In November 2010 the Centre will begin offering a number of new postgraduate
courses in Childhood and Youth Studies. These Graduate Certificate, Graduate
Diploma and Masters level awards focus on a range of issues for children,
young people and families.

These courses have been designed for professionals working in a range of
contexts. They are informed by up-to-date research and include a strong
practical component, drawing on international best practice to support
practitioners' day-to-day work with children and families.

Candidates can enrol in full award courses or undertake single units for the
purpose of 'stand alone' accredited professional development. We also
provide an approved pathway into the Graduate Certificate for those without
an undergraduate degree. Course material is available online with ongoing
support from tutors and engagement with peers. The units can be undertaken
externally.

Information about the course, including details on how you can apply, can be
found on the University
<http://www.scu.edu.au/coursesin2011/?action=matrix&command=matrix_temp_load
&spk_no=302454> 's website or from the CCYP website

If you would like to discuss the relevance of this course to your learning
needs, or those of your colleagues, please e-mail the course coordinator
