Fred Roberts ========================================================================= Assistant Director of DIMACS Rutgers University The Center for Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science (DIMACS) at Rutgers University is seeking a full time Assistant Director. The position will be a non-tenure track 9- or 12-month faculty position at Rutgers University at a salary commensurate with experience. Applicants without a doctorate will be considered for the position as a staff appointment. Background in computer science, mathematics, operations research, or statistics is required. Demonstrated interest in connections of mathematical sciences to other disciplines such as biology, epidemiology, economics, etc. will be a plus but is not required. Demonstrated technical writing proficiency is required. Duties will include writing reports; preparing or assisting with grant proposals; planning, organizing and participating in educational and research programs; selecting applicants for student and faculty programs; developing publicity; and representing DIMACS at university, professional society, industry, and government meetings. The Assistant Director will have the opportunity to participate in workshops at Rutgers and at other venues, and an opportunity to pursue a personal research program can be arranged.
