DIMACS Workshop on Data Mining Techniques in Bioinformatics October 30 - 31, 2003 DIMACS Center, CoRE Building, Rutgers University Organizers: Mona Singh, Princeton University, mona at cs.princeton.ed Mark Gerstein, Yale University, Mark.Gerstein at yale.edu Presented under the auspices of the DIMACS Special Focus on Data Analysis and Mining ********************************************************************* In recent years, high-throughput experimental methods in molecular biology have resulted in enormous amounts of data, both in terms of volume and in terms of new types of data. In addition to complete genome sequences, we have gene expression data, protein structural data, protein-protein interaction data, and protein-DNA interaction data. Data mining techniques will play a large role in analyzing and integrating these large biological datasets, as well as in discovering the biological processes underlying these data. The goal of this workshop is to bring together researchers in both data mining and bioinformatics, with the aim of exploring new techniques and insights for deciphering biological databases. Talks will be by invitation only. ******************************************************** Registration Fees: (Pre-registration deadline: October 23, 2003) Regular rate Preregister before deadline $120/day After preregistration deadline $140/day Reduced Rate* Preregister before deadline $60/day After preregistration deadline $70/day Postdocs Preregister before deadline $10/day After preregistration deadline $15/day DIMACS Postdocs $0 Non-Local Graduate & Undergraduate students Preregister before deadline $5/day After preregistration deadline $10/day Local Graduate & Undergraduate students $0 (Rutgers & Princeton) DIMACS partner institution employees** $0 DIMACS long-term visitors*** $0 Registration fee to be collected on site, cash, check, VISA/Mastercard accepted.
