DIMACS/CCICADA Workshop on Stochastic Networks: Reliability, Resiliency, and Optimization

  October 12 - 14, 2011
DIMACS Center, CoRE Building, Rutgers University

    Endre Boros, RUTCOR, endre.boros at
    Andras Prekopa, RUTCOR, prekopa at
    Fred Roberts, DIMACS, froberts at
    Michael Tortorella, RUTCOR, mtortore at

Presented under the auspices of the DIMACS Special Focus on
Algorithmic Foundations of the Internet and The Homeland Security
Center for Command, Control, and Interoperability Center for Advanced
Data Analysis (CCICADA).

DIMACS and RUTCOR invite submission of abstracts for 30-minute
workshop presentations that illustrate significant problems and
solutions concerning contemporary issues in stochastic networks. The
workshop will bring together a variety of workers in theory and
applications with the intention of identifying common areas ripe for
new advances in the theory that may be widely applied. Major focus
areas include network design and evolution principles and methods,
design for network and service reliability, network resiliency and
robustness, and risk analysis. Applications to be considered include
telecommunications and wireless networks, electric power, continuum
commodity networks such as water and oil and gas distribution,
discrete commodity networks such as transportation and logistics
networks, biological networks, social networks, and military and
mobile ad-hoc networks. Preference will be given to presentations that
(1)highlight common difficulties across application domains or
(2)discuss particular solution procedures useful for more than one
application domain.

Call for Participation:

The workshop will consist of both invited talks and contributed
talks. Those wishing to give a contributed talk should submit a
one-page description of their presentation, with additional material
(such as a paper) optional, to mtortore at by
**September 16th, 2011**. There is space for limited number of contributed
talks. Should there be an excess of submissions, the organizers will
select the contributed talks using the summaries submitted.

The workshop is open to all interested participants, subject to space
limitations. To participate, please register.
