[CAS_Announcements] Migrating test-cas to new Infrastructure 10/29/2015 7:00AM - 8:00 AM

Team,

This is the second day of the testing . Few applications reported
issues connecting to the new test CAS. They were mainly related to two
things:

   1) Some applications need to update their certificate library with the
new VeriSign intermediate certificate. Application administrator
updated their application certificate store and resolved the issue.
(VeriSign Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority - G5 and Symantec
Class 3 Secure Server CA - G4)

2)Some applications use DNS servers that took longer time to flush and
were seeing the old CAS IP address . Application administrators flushed
their DNS's server and resolved the issue

Please continue testing your applications and report any issues to
""idm_support at email.rutgers.edu"

Thanks,

This move is taking longer than expected so test-cas.rutgers.edu will be
unstable until around 9am.

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) will be migrating the Test
Central Authentication Service (CAS) (test-cas.rutgers.edu) to a new
environment on Thursday 10/29/15, from 7:AM to 8:00 AM. This is required
to keep pace with IT advances, maintain an appropriate security posture,
and provide reliable, resilient, stable and effective Authentication
services to the university.

Services protected by CAS authentication are not expected to need to make
any changes, however it is requested and recommended that you test your
applications and report if there are any issues by November 20, 2015. You
can report this to the IdM team @"idm_support at email.rutgers.edu".

We appreciate your understanding and patience.

Other Release Notes:

1) Multiple data center auto fail-over capability

Thanks,
