[16days_discussion] Theme for the international women day

Mary Ann marymac43 at verizon.net
Thu Jan 27 09:08:35 EST 2011

This is the theme for this year's session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women and the review theme is about violence against girls. I don't know what the theme is for this year's International Women's Day, but I agree that each country should have its own priority theme and perhaps pick up the UN theme as secondary.

Hello Mary, I think it is free for each country to have a theme for itself . since different nations have different women's agenda as priority, one must not necessary work with the UN theme

United Nation themes used for International Women's Day to date:

        - 2011, Theme: Equal access to education, training and science and technology: Pathway to decent work for women

        hope this helps
