Machine Learning Reading Group

This is a machine learning reading group. Right now we are mostly graduate students in the Department of Computer Science, but we welcome people across the university to join.

We will use Slack to organize and coordinate. You can join our slack team through this link:

Slack is a very useful team collaboration tool. As part of the Slack team, we also invite you to be active in discussions of new technologies---both to assist and ask for assistance. If you are interested in general machine learning, applied statistical modeling, deep learning, any deep learning library (Theano/Torch/Caffe/Tensorflow), or any machine learning or statistical modeling library (scikit/stan/pymc3/etc), please join the slack and become active!

Please also subscribe to the mailing list for more formal discussion and announcement.

Call for Speakers:

We invite researchers and practitioners in machine learning, both theoretical and applied, to participate in the reading group. You can
- Present your own work
- Discuss an interesting paper
- Walk through an implementation in a useful library (theano/torch/caffe/tensorflow/scikit/stan/pymc3/etc)
- Practice a talk (qualification exams/defenses/conference talks/etc)

If you are interested in speaking at some point, or in getting more information, please send an email to
